The foreign installation comes back, I assure you, but not as strong, and a process begins until one day it flees permanently. A sad day indeed! The Foreign Installation is huge, enormous in fact and all encompassing. It is because of the Foreign Installation that so many healing modalities have been created in every culture, in every part of the world since the beginning of time. Think about it. Why do people enter into healing in the first place? To become free.

Most modern day healers take the form of psychologists, physiatrists and psychotherapists. Other current modalities that have been brought forward from the past include the practices of shamanism, medicine men and women, reiki practitioners, energy workers, bodhisattvas, light-workers, along with a wide range of other labels that help to define them and the work that they do. Some are phony, some are real but they all have the same purpose. Freedom from the voices in your head.

Where did these voices come from? Simply and from the perspective of most modern-day psychologists they have been instilled by social conditioning, expectations set forth by parents, teachers, religious orders, social order, etc. For most people, eliminating some of their social conditioning and expectations through therapy is enough. This is not true, however, for the warrior who recognizes that the foreign installation is much bigger and deeper than that.

For a warrior, exercises like erasing personal history, recapitulating, and paying attention through heightening awareness are the things that abolish social conditioning, the voices in the head and subdue the ego and eliminate self-importance. With these things out of the way and resolved the warrior has increased their personal energy, shifted their assemblage points considerably and perceives in a new way. She may, for all accounts and purposes, reside in a new realm altogether with an entirely new set of perceptual filters and functioning fluidly and efficiently from within a well of immense awareness.

Heightened awareness allows one to move beyond the mundane distractions of ordinary life and become oblivious of the external chatter and mindful of the internal chatter. Don Juan said time and again that the warrior knows that his intent is impeccable and in this knowing a warrior laughs and laughs. What more could there be if the warrior is empty and impeccable? At this point, the warrior exists simply, knowing that they are a part of a delicate and complex web of creation that allows them to see the interconnectedness of all things, the truth of all things. The rest is folly and quite hysterical.

On the other hand, the warrior’s awareness and ability to see the truth in all things can also be quite frightening. The foreign installation is like a being that manipulates and bends people to serve its will. This is not delusional paranoia but instead a very real thing that exists on the peripheral of reality as most people perceive it. The foreign installation is quite adept at being invisible yet forces its agenda upon humans quite succinctly and consistently.

The movie The Matrix touches upon this theory and a book called, Not Impossible!: How Our Universe May Exist Inside of a Computer by G. Wells Hanson, explores the possibility that our universe behaves like a program running in a computer. My own reference for the foreign installation is the keeper of the key and I have on numerous occasions intuited that we are being watched and studied and manipulated. Always kept at arm’s length from the ultimate transcendence into reaching the full potential of what it means to be human by a force that exerts its will upon us; afraid, perhaps, of what may happen if we were to function in the manner we were intended to, authentically and freely.

The foreign installation, among other things, keeps most people complacent, fearful, controlled, dim, anxious, restless and discontent. Fearful, discontent, restless people constantly strive to free themselves from these attributes and will do anything to do so, even if it all boils down to running around and around on the monotonous and repetitive gerbil wheel of life. And the keeper of the key watches with amusement, I am sure, as the people on the treadmill run around with uncertainty and invent harmful things, experiment and potentially destroy the natural order of things and consume recklessly. The destructive and invasive energy of the foreign installation has a stronghold over humanity and its strongest allies are, unfortunately, in government, political forums, religious orders and leadership roles. For a long time this hierarchy has worked successfully but is becoming increasingly flawed. People are waking up and warriors are emerging everywhere. And those with awareness will rise up and rebel. But this rebellion will be different than any other because it will be a rebellion in awareness, rooted in silent knowledge with a primal and fundamental knowing that the eloquent strength of this awareness will be greater than any force ever before displayed. An action of not-doing. And the foreign installation will have no defense to the discipline, control, certainty and silence that it encounters.
