I shifted my eyes so I would see his personal life disintegrating, expanding uncontrollably beyond its limits, like a fog of crystals, because that is the way life and death mix and expand. That is what I did at the time of my son’s death. That’s all one could ever do, and that is controlled folly. Had I looked at him I would have watched him becoming immobile and I would have felt a cry inside of me, because never again would I look at his fine figure pacing the earth. I saw his death instead, and there was no sadness, no feeling. His death was equal to everything else.” ~ Don Juan, A Separate Reality
I did not understand this statement of Don Juan’s until July 2, 2017 as I witnessed cancer, the ultimate predator, steal my husband’s 53 years-young exuberant life causing him to cease to exist. I knelt beside him holding his hands and said, “merge with cosmic consciousness,” as he took his last breath and I felt his energy retreating inwards, as in a vacuum, until it was all within him, at the center of consciousness within himself. And then he was gone. And so was all of his energy. The bedroom was quiet, so incredibly noiseless and still. I looked at our very good friend who sat there with me and I said, “He did it. He took all of his energy with him and left with utter efficiency.” He replied, “Yes, he most certainly did.”
We sat there for a few minutes uncomprehendingly trying to comprehend what had just occurred. And then there was a strange otherworldly cry. Three of us in the house all heard a different thing. One heard a child, one a woman, and I heard a man. We all heard it coming from different points of origin. I heard it come from the back yard; one heard it in the front yard, and one in the garage. We do not know what it was. Maybe it was a pack of coyotes, circling the perimeter while energetically connecting to this ethereal event. An ally perhaps, helping to guide him safely to infinity? Inorganic beings? A welcoming committee?
Once you learn to discern the voice of Mother Culture humming in the background, telling her story over and over again to the people of your culture, you’ll never stop being conscious of it. Wherever you go for the rest of your life, you’ll be tempted to say to the people around you, “how can you listen to this stuff and not recognize it for what it is? ~ Daniel Quinn
I have come to realize through my life experience that the more I think I know, the less I actually know. This is a good thing, a very good thing. I don’t have as many opinions as I used to because I have come to know that everything is true, right and correct, at least from the perspective of the person who holds those perceptions. And that’s okay; it is, after all, their world, their creation, and we can’t possibly know what they’ve been through or what they are doing to maintain that perception. And unless they ask, there is nothing we can tell ‘em.
Have I not just told you that Intelligence moves through all physical forms? Whereas form is separate in its physical identity, Intelligence is One. We (plants) welcome an attitude of respect and admiration. For too long the forests have been exploited to meet your needs on a physical level. It is time now to merge our energy with mankind on higher, finer levels. ~ Michael Roads, Talking with Nature
Wild Tufted Evening Primrose promotes hormonal balance, helps rheumatoid arthritis, and a wide range of female remedies.
The spring equinox is the first day of spring and is a time of the year when we plant the seeds of dreams for the earth, dreams that have the potential to become nourished and brought to fruition. Chanting and drumming in the sweat lodge on March 20th, we each shared strong intentions for planting the seeds of change; intentions for more conscious awareness to take root in humanity. These are the seeds of creative, universal life-force energy that can be nourished by all of us to liberate the planet from the grasp of seeds that have produced fear and confusion.
There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. – Hopi Elder, Oraibi, Arizona
All we have to do is align with Source energy, merging with utter fluidity in the space of no-mind, no-words, no fixating, no need to explain. Just flow along as energy, witnessing energy, being energy, traveling through doorways and traversing the pathways that unfold before us. – Lorraine Voss, Becoming Awareness
I have spent some time considering the numerous terms that have surfaced during the course of my lifetime; terms that imply that there are beings on earth that are opening portals and leading the way into higher realms of human consciousness. There are many terms that define this kind of transformational action and they have included, but are not limited to: healers, ascended masters, teachers, gurus, cultural creatives, wisdom keepers, shaman, medicine people, starseeds, flame carriers, earth angels, crystal/rainbow/diamond children, indigos, magentas, lightworkers, and so on. I’m sure you have heard of most, if not all of them. For clarity’s sake, we’ll refer to this energy as light workers in this article.
Any man who is attached to things of this world is one who lives in ignorance and is being consumed by the snakes of his own passions. ~ Black Elk
Millions of people around the world are committed to diverting the black snake, the DAPL pipeline but diversion is not sufficient. The water protectors in North Dakota are providing the rest of the planet with a massive wake-up call. We have got to reduce our dependence on big oil globally, and finally utilize the renewable resources that are available and plentiful. Global awareness must continue to rise and people must come to understand that petroleum is toxic to all forms of life. The environmental damage includes water resources, soil contamination, air pollution, and everything else that the oil seeps into, not to mention the health of wildlife, essential microbes, marine life, humans, and our food source. The health risks that humans and all wildlife suffer when exposed to oil spills are complex and the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico is providing us with an in-depth look at just how serious oil disasters are.
Sadly, we are up against a lot of challenges, distractions, perplexities, confusion, resistance, sadness, bewilderment, helplessness, and anger, as we try to figure out how we have arrived to the mess we’re in.
In lieu of all that is occurring right now, I am giving away a free chapter entitled A Dark Force from my book Becoming Awareness.
This chapter illustrates how the dark force, also known as the predator, infiltrates the minds of humans in order to disrupt, confuse, and dilute the natural flow and balance of life. I hope this chapter provides a deeper understanding to the age-old patterns of consumption, power, and greed that must be transformed and put to rest, once and for all.
“Crazy Horse is coming. Crazy Horse is coming!” Off toward the west and north they were yelling “Hókahé!” like a big wind roaring, and making the tremolo; and you could hear the eagle bone whistles screaming.” ~ Black Elk as transcribed by John Neihardt, Black Elk Speaks
It is often said that the Lakota phrase, Hókahé, was Crazy Horse’s battle cry to mean today is a good day to die but this is incorrect. Hókahé loosely translates to let’s go! yeah! I’m not afraid, and let’s unite!
Presto! Consider the pervasive perspectives of profane politicians with potentials to fixate the position of people’s assemblage points in an attempt to permeate, and pervade reality without permission. The penetration of pointless propaganda that promotes poisonous points of view is poised to perpetuate perplexity while placing us in the predicament of a precarious plunge into a pestilent existence. Putting us in peril of a state of platitude, we pause to ponder this illusion of persuasive power. If you find this paragraph to be puzzling and perplexing, just remember it’s possible to promote a positive and persuasive paradigmatic permutation of peace and profundity beyond the patterns of puppeteering. Patience and persistence are pertinent as we poignantly and poetically persist in a pragmatic manner to prevail in pure perception. ~ LV
When we become aware of something through one of our senses, to include our sixth sense of intuition, we perceive; we become aware of something. Our ability to perceive provides us with a way to interpret and understand our world. How we each perceive differs vastly based upon the conditions that shaped our reality. Enter in perspective.
We are approaching the time of year when the weather is getting cooler and crisper, the sun rises later and sets earlier, and you can feel a shift of energy in the air. Between October 31st and November 2nd are the recognized holidays of Halloween, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day. These Christian observances have their roots in Samhain (pronounced Sah-ween), and Dia de los Muertos, the day of the dead.
The Encyclopedia of Religion states that “the British church attempted to divert the interest in pagan customs by adding a Christian celebration to the calendar on the same date as Samhain, the ancient Celtic name for the festival that eventually would be renamed Halloween.”
Similarly, 500 years ago the Spanish conquistadores and missionaries moved the Mesoamerican festival of Dia de los Muertos from the July/August harvest time to coincide with the Catholic All Saints’ Day on November 1st and All Souls’ Day on November 2nd as a day to honor the dead. All Saints’ Day was originally known by the middle English word Alholowmesse. Over time this was shortened to All-hallowmas and the night before was known as All-hallows eve which eventually became Hallowe’en or Halloween.
