The Importance of Silence for Warriors

Silence is a passageway between worlds. When our mind stays silent, incredible aspects of our being emerge. Starting from that moment, a person becomes a vehicle of intent, and all his acts begin to ooze power. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

Don Juan affirmed that we spend our lives regurgitating an endless list of opinions on almost everything. We receive thoughts in clusters; one connects with the other one, until the entire space of the mind is packed full. That noise has no use, because, practically in its entirety, it is devoted to the enlargement of the ego.

Most people are no longer willing to be silent. They want to fill their lives with noise and activity, to listen to something or to say something or to do something. Cell phones, computers, iPods, video games, noisy cars, trains, airports, television, night-clubs, shopping malls, the endless drone of incessant chatter, email, social networks; all contribute to the constant bombardment of incoming stimuli. External stimulation is taking its toll and serving to disconnect people from the power of silence and the source of all things.

This kind of overstimulation results in the decrease of higher brain processes and habituates quickly. The result is that most stimuli that is encountered becomes so diminished that meaning becomes lost as the habituated brain frequencies only strive to process the information that is sitting at the surface. Overstimulated people cannot function appropriately and have a tendency to be more aggressive, self-indulgent, impatient, lackadaisical and apathetic. It is this very type of human that The Predator is cultivating for its own survival.

Warriors, however, are committed to traveling on the avenues of awareness and know that they must retreat or unplug from external stimulation and take the time to experience the depth and splendor that can be experienced through silence. Whether it is in the backyard, living room, on a mountaintop or in an ashram, the warrior simply knows the importance of going to silence. Warriors immerse themselves into thought processes that can bring them to deeper understanding or the silent knowledge that can be found when one surrenders and simply allows themselves to be “moved” through intuition, innate wisdom or collective consciousness.

Within the silence, existing awareness is deepened and new awareness is encountered. Pure knowing surfaces, energy is amassed and the integration of first and second attention knowledge occurs. As a result, the assemblage point shifts and one is provided the opportunity to move forward from a new point of reference while perceiving everything from within a new band of awareness.

It is essential for warriors to continue to immerse themselves into silent knowledge at this time. There is a monumental shift, in the process of occurring, that will threaten to completely consume human awareness in a way that will be unprecedented and potentially render much of humanity as empty shells, barely functioning as their limited and superficial brain frequencies barely generate the tiniest impulses for leading to higher consciousness as they strive to survive without really even knowing why.

Conscious evolution is not going to be an option for all of the planet’s human inhabitants, but it will be the only option for warriors. As far-fetched as it might sound in this moment, we have no other choice but to continue to hone our awareness to ensure that we will unite our band of awareness that will allow us to dart past the eagle to be free.

I am already given to the power that rules my fate.
And I cling to nothing, so I will have nothing to defend.
I have no thoughts, so I will see.
I fear nothing, so I will remember myself.
Detached and at ease, I will dart past the Eagle to be free.
~ The Eagle’s Gift
