Old Age and the Warrior Traveler

At the end of his journey of learning, and almost without warning he will come upon the last of his enemies: old age! This enemy is the cruelest of all, the one he won’t be able to defeat completely, but only fight away. This is the time when a man has no more fears, no more impatient clarity of mind – a time when all his power is in check, but also the time when he has an unyielding desire to rest. If he gives in totally to his desire to lie down and forget, if he soothes himself in tiredness, he will have lost his last round, and his enemy will cut him down into a feeble old creature. His desire to retreat will overrule all his clarity, his power, and his knowledge. – Carlos Castaneda, The Teachings of Don Juan

In 2015 I wrote a blog entitled warriors and the four natural enemies. Today I want to talk about the natural enemy of old age because this is the era that many who have aligned themselves with the Toltec path of knowledge and awareness are entering into. I bring this up at this time because I am witness to a group of warriors – who I have done work with for decades – succumb to old age, and some of them are still in their 40s. As a result, I felt myself slipping into a state of perma-rest until recently when faced with the choice of acquiescing to the predator or continuing the battle against it.  Wake up call! The battle for knowledge and freedom continues.

Why, you may ask? Because, since we were young adults we all knew that the cult mind of collective consciousness was not something that we resonated with and we pushed the boundaries relentlessly to break free from the mold of man. Don Juan said, The new seers are the only ones who have the sobriety to see the mold of man and understand what it is. What they have come to realize is that the mold of man is not a creator, but the pattern of every human attribute we can think of and some we cannot even conceive.

I speak for myself when I say those of us who have committed our lives to a path of freedom cannot allow ourselves to get tripped up by circumstances that will prevent us from continuing the dance into the abstract. If we do, then what was the point of all the hard work? The thing that has changed for me is that I am now traveling into unfamiliar territory alone for the first time. With my husband gone and with my community disbanded, I recognize that the only option left is to navigate the unknown in a new way.

In regards to diving into infinity, Don Juan said, You must face this task with all the gravity it deserves. It is your last stop before infinity swallows you. In fact, unless a warrior-traveler is in a sublime state of being, infinity will not touch him with a ten-foot pole. So, don’t spare yourself; don’t spare any effort. Push it mercilessly, but elegantly, all the way through. – The Active Side of Infinity. He also said that just before the warrior traveler dives into infinity he turns around to say thank you to those who favored him. So thank you to all of those people.

While the predator has been consuming humanity at an alarming rate over the course of the past year, it has had its final chance to consume me. It has lost that battle. So it is with elegance, fortitude, courage, creativity, perseverance, and an unyielding intent that I continue to dance into infinity, into the unknowable. Hope to see you there!

Keep dancing!

  1. Timely post! I am virtually on this path alone as well, having to encourage myself when I feel like resting. I have been a warrior through time and will continue as such. I value your perspective.

    • Hi Jane, I’m happy to hear from you and I’m excited to embark upon this next part of my journey. Navigating the lines of awareness will be challenging at times but I’m ready. Thank you!

    • Hi Jane, it is my view that you are not really alone as there are many of us “with” you, just on unique paths! I’m glad you are here to share your warrior perspectives and perceptions!

  2. Lorraine, great post, and very timely of course. I think that when we start seeing our “warrior” communities disband, it is the outward sign that we ourselves are fully individuating into our authentic selves. My perception is that Cov-Ain’t — as I jokingly call it to MOCK the contemptuous predators — gave complacent people a big opportunity to “check out” of doing any hard psychological work, and thus permanently relieve themselves of their perceived “burden” of personal cognitive advancement.

My husband and I have seen many of our friends, family, and students succumb to fear-porn and accept, with no validity whatsoever, all of the directives and the Luciferian poison stabs as though they are STARVING for Daddy Government and Mommy Medicine to GIVE them health and well-being, a reason to “keep living.” They have thrown actual reasoning and heart-based intelligence into the ditch, and willingly accepted the call to “old age,” be they 22 or 92.

The saddest thing for me to witness is these parents who have forced the stabs and the Satanic ritual humiliation/conversion muzzles on their children and manipulated loved ones into welcoming these forms of abject torture and enslavement. One can hope as I do that many young (and old) warriors see through the cruel deceptions and carry the torch of freedom in their hearts, as we witness this latest — and possibly last — predator power-grab.

Meanwhile, let us remain traveling undaunted in uncharted territory, steps ahead of or perhaps leaps above the predator/mind-virus as we learn, dance, sing, and create in our unique ways of expression!💖

    • Thanks for your response, Sharine, it’s nice to “see” you again! I have arrived at the place where there are many stories circulating around the world, just as there have always been. We can reject the ones we don’t align with and embrace the ones we like. Bottom line to it all lies in what you said: let us remain traveling undaunted in uncharted territory, steps ahead of or perhaps leaps above the predator/mind-virus as we learn, dance, sing, and create in our unique ways of expression! Thank you!

  3. I swim alone in this Ocean of Energy. Each of us has always done so! There are circles, families, and communities, ….but those are the trappings of the predator. We enjoy them in our 1st attention state. Only those that travel the ethers with us will remain. I have only 2.

Each day I am fortunate to perceive untold entities and energies. And above all, the Earth wraps me in her loving self. So, though we are alone, we need never be lonely! Touch her. Lie down on her. Open up to her. She is the companion we can rely on!

    • Thank you Jaggg!
I am going to disclose to you a warrior’s secret. Perhaps you can call it a warrior’s predilection. The life of a warrior cannot possibly be cold and lonely and without feelings because it is based on his affection, his devotion, his dedication to his beloved. And who, you ask, is his beloved? I will show you now. (Genaro “swam” above the surface of the Earth.)
Genaro’s love is the world. He was just now embracing this enormous earth but since he’s so little all he can do is swim in it. But the earth knows that Genaro loves it and it bestows on him its care. That’s why Genaro’s life is filled to the brim and his state, wherever he’ll be, will be plentiful. Genaro roams on the paths of his love and, wherever he is, he is complete.

  4. The battle of the spiritual warrior is always with the self. Wholeness being the ultimate goal within. While on my path I too watch many warriors succumb to the “fears” of the predator. For he is strong, never wanting any of us to be free. I am grateful for the warriors who have walked with me and taught me along the way and I will always hold them close to my heart. As one or multiple warriors fall off on their own journey, I am always aware of new warriors who are aligned with me in the continual pursuit of knowledge and freedom. Therefore, I am never truly alone. Today I have hope and faith and I trust and surrender to the luminous love light of the one.
Thank you for your post. I enjoy reading your wisdom and knowledge!

    • Thank you for your response! You are correct, the predator is strong and getting stronger. David Icke mentioned in April of last year that the challenges of the covid plandemic would reveal those who are truly connected to higher consciousness vs those who have only been talking heads. I appreciate you and everyone here who remains aligned with knowledge and freedom. Keep dancing!

  5. since I will be 70 years old this year I can say I am battling the last enemy, and I am in high gear now, I have embraced the Toltec path since it first appeared in CC’s first book, at that time it was not called Toltec but sorcery. I am making every day and act count. Since that time I have ravenously grabbed every book on this topic.and learned many things. Keep on dancing Loraine. Maybe we’ll meet in the abstract.

  6. “His desire to retreat will overrule all his clarity, his power, and his knowledge.” The losses I have experienced and those to come could overwhelm me. However, I will never retreat — never relinquish my clarity, power and knowledge to sorrow or defeat. Appreciation, gratitude, and joy for all I have and have had fill me with renewed spirit daily. Thanks ever so much for posting thought-provoking words that ensure me I am on my right path. Anne

    • What choice do we have other than to stay on on our path? I had almost succumbed to defeat through loss and it is with much gratitude and thanks to you and my other readers for bolstering me and helping me stay on track. Many blessings and let’s keep dancing together!
