Man’s predicament is that he intuits his hidden resources, but he does not dare use them. This is why warriors say that man’s plight is the counterpoint between his stupidity and his ignorance. Man needs now, more than ever, to be taught new ideas that have to do exclusively with his inner world – shamans’ ideas, not social ideas, ideas pertaining to man facing the unknown, facing his personal death. Now, more than anything else, he needs to be taught the secrets of the assemblage point. ~ Don Juan, The Power of Silence
This quote speaks of the fixation of the assemblage point of the earth. The fixation is a man-made assemblage that tells us that there is only one story on earth, one way to live and that until we are able to live in this single manner, and we will have no choice but to perfect ourselves in order to align with it. While there are multiple ways to align with the story, the point is conformism and compliance to a system of beliefs founded and grounded on authority, control and over-consumption.
So what now? How do we shift the assemblage point of the earth? Warriors of awareness and of freedom must be ruthless. Ruthlessness is the first principle of sorcery, it is the most basic premise of sorcery. Any movement of the assemblage point means a movement away from the excessive concern with the individual self. For a warrior, ruthlessness is not cruelty. Ruthlessness is the opposite of self-pity or self-importance. Ruthlessness is sobriety; the ability to act in a manner that is clear-headed, perceptive, discerning and decisive. I’m going to refer to some excellent quotes because I can’t say it any better than it’s already been said.
In The Active Side of Infinity don Juan explains, “Sorcerers are absolutely convinced that by moving our assemblage points away from their customary position we achieve a state of being which could only be called ruthlessness. Sorcerers know, by means of their practical actions, that as soon as their assemblage points move, their self-importance crumbles. Without the customary position of their assemblage points, their self-image can no longer be sustained. And without the heavy focus on that self-image, they lose their self-compassion, and with it their self-importance. Sorcerers are right, therefore, in saying that self-importance is merely self-pity in disguise.”
So you are a warrior who has already succeeded in shifting your assemblage point dramatically. Perhaps you are living in a manner that prevents you from fixating your assemblage point at all anymore and you are consistently recapitulating in the moment, living life in wonder and awe and beauty and joy. You have reached the breaking point that allowed you to discontinue living your life as you knew it. You have lost human form and that has provided you with the freedom to remember yourself. And now, more than ever, you are experiencing what it means to be your authentic self. To exist here means that your assemblage point resides in a place of no-pity.
Also from The Active Side of Infinity , “This narrow fringe of awareness is the epicenter of self-reflection, where man is irremediably caught. By playing on our self-reflection, which is the only point of awareness left to us, the predators create flares of awareness that they proceed to consume in a ruthless, predatory fashion. They give us inane problems that force those flares of awareness to rise, and in this manner they keep us alive in order to them to be fed with the energetic flare of our pseudo-concerns. There’s nothing that you and I can do about it. All we can do is discipline ourselves to the point where they will not touch us. How can you ask your fellow men to go through those rigors of discipline? They’ll laugh and make fun of you, and the more aggressive ones will beat the crap out of you. And not so much because they don’t believe it. Down in the depths of every human being, there’s an ancestral, visceral knowledge about the predators’ existence.”
When the assemblage point moves and reaches the place of no pity, the position of rationality and common sense becomes weak. This is a great thing because reason is replaced by intuition, by pure knowing through the connection with silent knowledge. And the inexplicable beauty and mystery that reside there to be witnessed in a state of utter freedom is the most fulfilling thing I have ever experienced. As don Juan says, “…and there I stand, looking, looking breathlessly.”
It is a difficult journey, a daily battle as the warrior embarks upon a path of freedom. There are so many patterns to release and centuries of extreme conditioning to unravel. And yet, it is the most rewarding journey comprised of immense beauty, awareness, and a depth of love and compassion that is rarely felt by those who blindly skim along the surface of the patterns. I can think of no greater joy than un-assembling the lines and patterns of the man-made matrix in order to reconnect, once again, to the beauty of the universal web of all of creation, the source. In freedom.
