Nagualism and Buddhism

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. ~ Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha

Just because I say it, please, don’t believe it. Have your own experience, form your own perceptions, encounter your own knowledge and explore your own awareness!!!

2012, The Dream and Organic Beings

The shamans of don Juan’s lineage saw that the essential condition of animate energy, organic or inorganic, is to turn energy in the universe at large into sensory data. In the case of organic beings, this sensory data is then turned into a system of interpretation in which energy at large is classified and a given response is allotted to each classification, whatever the classification may be. Don Juan said that the only thing shamans know about this is that the immense mass of energy called the dark sea of awareness supplies human beings with whatever is necessary to elicit this transformation of energy into sensory data, and that such a process could not possibly ever be deciphered because of the vastness of the original source.

Since returning from the pyramids in Mexico I have come to realize that my intention of going down there to connect with intent and open up to dream was an incredible success. It has been difficult for me to post for the past few of months as a result of the constant spin of information going through my mind and body. I say body because everything within my experience encompasses all the senses as though I am consistently residing on the precarious edge of some multi-universe or somehow plugged into some kind of time-travel course in awareness. Surprisingly to me was the intensity of the gateway that opened up as the result of connecting with intent. As intended prior to arriving in Mexico, I stood before each of the Chacmools that serve as guardians of the dreamtime for several of the pyramids and silently spoke my intent.

Knowing the Unknowable

Whatever is beyond our capacity to perceive is the unknowable. And the distinction between it and the knowable is crucial. Confusing the two would put seers in a most precarious position whenever they are confronted with the unknowable. Most of what’s out there is beyond our comprehension. ~ The Fire from Within

My journey has provided me the opportunity to engage with those who would consider themselves to be highly spiritual people. Most claim to have “memories” of having lived a past life or even many past lives. I have met numerous people who claim to have past life recollections of being Mayan Priestesses, Cleopatra, Siddhārtha, Crazy Horse, Pocahontas, John the Baptist, Gandhi, Joan of Arc, Jesus, the Virgin Mary, etc. How is it possible that so many can claim to have been one person?

Question the Answers!

I am already given to the power that rules my fate. And I cling to nothing, so I will have nothing to defend. I have no thoughts, so I will see. I fear nothing, so I will remember myself. Detached and at ease, I will dart past the eagle to be free. ~ The Eagle’s Gift

This quote spun through my mind all night. It has been one of my favorite quotes for many years. My thoughts, last night, encompassed the meaning of karma, the beliefs surrounding it, its effects and the illusion of it.

The Buddhists say that everything is an illusion. If this is so then karma must be an illusion as well. For most Americans, karma functions like fate, i.e. bad karma/good karma and is far too often associated with punishment/reward. In the true Buddhist sense, however, the word karma is more aligned with the sorcerers meaning of the word intent. The basic meaning of karma is action and the best definition for intent is the movable force.

Magically Connecting with Intent

Intent in the Castaneda sense is to surrender and to be in the flow, to be connected with the greater force or the Indescribable Force that surrounds us at all times. To softly touch upon infinity with barely a ripple.

My own experience with manifesting has strengthened my ability to manifest. Each time I “put it out there” and manifest something serves to further validate the endless possibilities and potential that we each have to fully construct and create our reality. It has become clear to have no attachment to outcome and to be careful what you ask for.

While in the Yucatan this month, my traveling companion and partnered warrior on this path of knowledge and awareness joined me in simultaneous connection with intent and we walked an amazing tale of power into existence. Months ago, in the early planning stages of our journey to the Yucatan we created the intention of sharing in sacred ceremony with a Mayan shaman to further open the gateways to higher levels of awareness. We had asked several people if they knew of anyone and did some research on the internet to no avail.

Life out of Balance

If we don’t learn how to travel along the avenues of awareness, we will come to such a state of frustration and despair that humanity will end up destroying itself. Our options are the way of the warrior, or extinction. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

This quote has been on my mind daily for about a year and will not leave. It has become a type of mantra that plays over and over as I am witness to situations, occurrences and incidents that are harmful to the environment and the beautiful animal creatures that inhabit her, including us. Most of my free time is spent outdoors, in the garden, camping in the remote wilderness, walking through the desert or forest enjoying the smells, sounds and wildlife that accompanies me.

Freedom From the Machine

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it. ~ Morpheus, The Matrix

What is the Machine? It’s the US government, the federal reserve, religion; an illusory perception of monolithic proportion that needs to be destroyed. The Machine is a gigantic predator, or inorganic being, that is sucking the life force out of humans in order for it to grow and thrive. It is so effective that it has an enormous population caring for it, feeding it and sustaining it. If we don’t take the necessary actions to eliminate it, it will align itself with the governments of other countries to become one of the biggest inorganic beings that has ever existed.

Losing Human Form

Everything we say is a reflection of the world of people. You talk and act the way you do because you’re clinging to the human form. ~ Don Juan, The Power of Silence

The dominant paradigm is a by-product of the foreign installation. It challenges humans to comply with a prescribed mode of behavior that does not inherently belong to them. It has been ingrained since the time of conception and is cultivated throughout the lifetime of each human, dictating to them how to act, speak, and conduct themselves in alignment with the unconscious culture, the people that keep the wheel spinning, each of them a mere cog in the wheel.

The Indescribable Force’s Emanations

There is no way to describe in words what the Indescribable Force’s emanations really are. A seer must witness them. They are a presence, almost a mass of sorts, a pressure that creates a dazzling sensation. One can catch only a glimpse of them, as one can catch only a glimpse of the Indescribable Force itself. ~ Carlos Castaneda

Think of yourself just as you are at this moment, nothing more, nothing less. Now think about the things that you have created in your life such as the home that you live in, a partner, children perhaps, a job, friends, pets. Now think about the stories that surround each of those creations to include a yard, a street, your partner’s job and friends, your kids school and friends, relationship with pets, your job related duties, contacts, acquaintances, your friend’s family and friends. Now consider that all of those people maintain their realities, their families, their friends and the stories connected to them.

Warrior Activism

The flaw with words is that they always make us feel enlightened, but when we turn around to face the world they always fail us and we end up facing the world as we always have, without enlightenment. For this reason, a warrior seeks to act rather than to talk, and to this effect, he gets a new description of the world – a new description where talking is not that important, and where new acts have new reflections. ~ Carlos Castaneda, The Wheel of Time

The short version of this quote is shut-up and walk your talk. Are you listening to all of the people who are saying that they are going to do things differently in order to help the environment, save the oceans, and become more sustainable? Are you aware of how many people talking with their friends about “going green” are only providing lip service? A warrior seeks to take action and through unbending intent accomplishes her feat.
