Victim Consciousness or New Level of Awareness?

And now the battle continues, since we are trapped by the forces of this world. One part of us is fighting to disintegrate and die, while another tries to maintain life and awareness at any cost. There is no peace! A warrior realizes this, and uses it to his advantage. His goal continues to be that which inspired the spark of life that created him: Access to a new level of awareness. – Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

The world is being consumed at a rapid rate by a foreign, energetic line called “victim consciousness.” In my book there is a chapter entitled The Lineage where I write about the multiple lines of awareness that exist and how those that glow or shine the brightest aren’t necessarily the best ones to connect with. Rather, they glow brightly because of the amount of energy they receive. Here is an excerpt from that chapter:

The brightest lines are the lines into which people place a lot of energy. This makes them shiny and brilliant which appeals to the subconscious and attracts people to them easily, like moths to a flame. People provide a lot of energy to those lines by being exposed to the constant bombardment of subliminal messaging they receive through the stories, realities, beliefs, and judgments of others. These subliminal messages are fed to the public and the public, without even realizing it, attaches a lot of importance to those lines. They become brighter as the result of collective consciousness feeding them. It’s been going on for centuries. Many of those lines are man-made and have increased energetically through the world of reason and have become anchored in reality. Some of the lines are of anger, fear, greed, despair, violence, and unworthiness, to name some of the brighter yet less virtuous lines. Continue reading

Mastery: Preparation for the Definitive Journey

A level of practical knowledge was included as part of teaching the mastery of awareness. On that practical level don Juan taught the procedures necessary to move the assemblage point. The two great systems devised by the sorcerer seers of ancient times to accomplish this were: dreaming, the control and utilization of dreams; and stalking, the control of behavior. ~ Carlos Castaneda,  The Power of Silence

Warriors know that it is necessary to modify the foundation of our perception from that of reason to that of the abstract; the ultimate foundation of a warrior’s perception rests on the certainty that energy is all there is.

When a warrior makes a commitment to total freedom the only thing that is required is to hone their mastery. Mastery of dreaming and mastery of stalking. Warriors know that they need energy in order to face the unknown and when arriving at the point of facing the pure abstract they must be impeccable.  If they are not, they will not dart past the eagle and will, instead, remain caught within the emanations that recycles them back into the karmic loop of reincarnation.

Impeccability: Further Evolution

The warrior’s final challenge is to balance all the attributes of his path. Once he does that, his purpose becomes inflexible. He is no longer moved by a desperate desire for gain. He is the owner of his will, and can put it to his personal service. When he arrives at that point, the warrior has learned how to be impeccable. And for him to continue being impeccable depends totally on the energy he has accumulated. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

Carlos goes on to say that impeccability is born of a delicate balance between our internal being and the forces of the external world. It is an achievement that requires effort, time, dedication, and being permanently attentive to the objective, so that the final purpose is never lost from sight. Like a lot of the nomenclature used by Castaneda, the word impeccability takes on a different meaning than the standard dictionary definition. In the dictionary impeccability is defined as the absence of sin, faultless; flawless; irreproachable. Don Juan says; impeccability is nothing else but the proper use of energy.

Going Deeper

It is nearly incomprehensible to realize what the new seers have accomplished. These impeccable warrior-sorcerers have outlined the essence of a path to the threshold of power itself! They have carried the realization of power’s promise beyond the flaw with words, and actualized it as an empirical aspect of the human experience. These soldiers of the third attention have accomplished a miraculous journey that every human being longs to make. They have returned to the abstract in a state of total awareness. They have burned with the fire from within and flown into eternity on the incomprehensible wings of intent. ~ Creative Victory, Tomas

Seeing

If we were able to transcend interpretation and face pure perception without prejudice, the impression of a world of objects would vanish. In its place, we would witness energy as it flows in the universe. Under such conditions, the chain of other people’s thoughts would no longer have the smallest effect on us and we would not feel obliged to be or do anything. Then our senses would have no limits. That’s seeing. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

I have more questions than answers when it comes to this. And I am discovering that there really are no answers when dealing with silent knowledge, at least none that come close to what it means to be in a state of seeing from a point of pure perception. What I do know is that when the assemblage point radically shifts from its fixated location and we are forced to perceive in a new manner it takes a lot of energy to stabilize again. And for warrior travelers it is even more difficult because where the average man attempts to rebuild and reconstruct their reality exactly as it was, the warrior recognizes the radical shift as the very gift they’ve been striving for. To reconstruct their “reality” as it was, would be a repetition of a pattern instead of an act of creation.

Impeccability and the Heart Sutra

The state of no pity is surprising. One attempts to reach it step by step, through years of continuous pressure, but it happens suddenly, like an instantaneous vibration that breaks our mold and allows us to look at the world with a serene smile. For the first time in many years, we feel free of the terrible weight of being ourselves, and we see the reality that surrounds us. Once there, we are not alone. An incredible push awaits us, help which comes from the core of the Eagle and transports us in a microsecond to universes of sobriety and sanity. When we don’t have any pity for ourselves, we can face the impact of our personal extinction with elegance. Death is the force that gives the warrior value and moderation. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

Carlos goes on to say that when we can truly see the reality that surrounds us, once we have completely gotten out of our own way, that we can make interpretations as far as our attention will allow and that every single action counts because each action releases avalanches into the infinite. Witnessing this universal bond, the warrior is prey to contradictory feelings. On the one hand, indescribable joy and a supreme and impersonal reverence toward all that exists. On the other hand, a sense of the inevitable and a deep sadness that has nothing to do with self-pity; a sadness that comes from the breast of infinity, a blast of solitude which will never leave her again.

Integrity, Impeccability and Freedom

The aspect of impeccability which particularly concerns our daily lives is knowing how exercising our freedom affects others, and avoiding the resulting friction at any cost. Occasionally, our relationships with others will generate friction and expectations. A fighting sorcerer pays close attention to his contacts, and becomes a hunter of signs. If there are no signs, he doesn’t interact with people; he is content to wait because, although he doesn’t have time, he has all the patience in the world. He knows that too much is at stake, and won’t risk ruining everything by one false move. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

Impeccability is defined as being perfect or having no flaws; incapable of wrong doing. In the warrior sense from Castaneda impeccability is to save or conserve energy. Recapitulation is a means of reclaiming energy and increasing personal power. Personal power allows one to be deliberate and precise with their words and actions. If these acts are repeated long enough, one acquires a sense of unbending intent, which can be applied to anything else and as a result they become impeccable warriors.
