Thought is not, as is many times supposed, a mere indefinite abstraction or something of a like nature. It is, on the contrary, a vital, living force, the most vital, subtle and irresistible force there is in the universe. ~ Ralph Waldo Trine, In Tune With the Infinite
Thoughts have the power to create and we must be mindful of the thoughts we put out into the world. My thoughts are most associated with the power and beauty of this sacred earth.
I love the wilderness, the plants and creatures that inhabit this planet. In Robin William’s movie, What Dreams May Come, the characters created their reality through their thoughts. William’s reality was of creating beauty and since I first saw that movie I have held the intention to create even more beauty in my life in the manner through which he did in the movie, by making my thoughts my reality. To imagine flowers at my feet and seeing them become manifest at the next footfall. While living in Oregon, I manifested a Japanese maple tree. I wanted one so much but never purchased it. One day, while picking blackberries on the perimeter of my yard, lo and behold, a Japanese maple that was about 18” tall was growing under the berry patch. I transplanted it and it grew very big in a short period of time.
My book received a really cool book review, with this accompanying image from Carlos Castaneda’s book, The Fire From Within, and I want to share it here. It’s been so interesting to receive feedback about the book and I appreciate the time that has been taken by those who have left Amazon book reviews and/or contacted me with personal insights from the readers’ perspective.
Thank you, John, for a very interesting and supportive review!
Beyond Carlos Castaneda’s Teachings: A New Perspective
Rare is the book that comes along that is both a pleasure to read, as well as serves as a treasure trove of insightful knowledge into personal and spiritual growth. Lorraine Voss’s Becoming Awareness is one such book.
Early within “Becoming Awareness”, Lorraine mentions Carlos Castaneda and the books he has written. Some explanation is due to this mention.
As pure conscious awareness I could perceive and observe everything on the earth that I had recapitulated. There, before me, was a beautiful and diverse array of creation. The world, I realized, will go on with or without me. The patterns and man-made stories of the world will continue, only as long as there are people who are willing to uphold them. ~ Becoming Awareness
A couple of my long-time blog fans have asked me where my “fight” went. They seem to be puzzled, almost offended, at my lack of activism or radical engagement in fending off the predator, or the government, or the inorganic beings that feed off of humanity. It’s not that my get-up-and-go-got-up-and-went, there is just nothing to struggle against. The position of the assemblage point cannot remain fixated or we will not evolve. It boils down to unplugging, a surrender that comes not from weakness, but from strength, the strength that allows the seer to see power as it moves through the universe while bearing witness to what people choose to do with that power.
Connect with the Earth; she will boost you beyond your wildest dreams. The alignment of her emanations with yours will deliver you into the amazing net of oneness, with humility, gratitude, and utter simplicity. This net, this web of creation, is where all dreams and visions are born, and from where we have the freedom to assemble our new reality in order to dance awake our own dream. ~ Nayeli, Becoming Awareness
We recently took a jeep tour through the bottom of Canyon de Chelly in Chinle, AZ with a Navajo guide. The canyon is not accessible without a guide if you are not Navajo except for a couple of places where you can hike down by foot, as we had many years ago. It was a beautiful journey as the 1,000 foot tall stone cliffs revealed Anasazi ruins, sentinels, and ancestors at every turn throughout this magnificent canyon.
…a profound recapitulation is the most expedient means to lose the human form. Thus it is easier for stalkers, after recapitulating their lives, to make use of all the not-doings of the self, such as erasing personal history, losing self-importance, breaking routines and so forth. ~ Carlos Castaneda, The Eagle’s Gift
The Nagual told me that when the second attention has to be called upon to assemble itself, all that is needed is the motion of opening that door. That’s the secret of the Toltec dreamers once they are formless. ~ Carlos Castaneda, The Second Ring of Power
Throughout his books, Castaneda discusses sweeping the island of the tonal or liberating oneself from the mundane details of first attention. This basically has to do with recognizing the mold of man for what it is and freeing ourselves from the mold. Doing so allows us to view the world from a new state of perception; choosing to go beyond states of conscious awareness of the first attention and entering into the realm of dream, second attention, or the unconscious. When we connect with second attention we are able to bring ourselves into a state of natural balance. When we integrate the first and second attentions, the second attention accesses new energetic frequencies, and the first attention then organizes the new information. This integration provides heightened awareness and acute perception.
I now understand why it is so difficult to be able to trust in the flow of life because in order to do so, we must make a conscious choice to not allow our minds to control our every moment, our every thought. When we take a stand to be in our power, we come to recognize that our power isn’t really ours, per se, but belongs to the flow of the universe that is guiding us, providing for us, and orchestrating our life’s events with or without our approval or consent. ~ Lorraine Voss, Becoming Awareness
So what to write now? Writing a book of non-fiction is as big of a distraction as any, one that anchors the writer into patterns and stories that have, in the case of my book, already been recapitulated. While writing this book I had to recount decades of experiences and information. There was no other choice than to reconnect to the energy of all those stories. In such an arduous undertaking, there was little time for being present for dancing along new lines of awareness. Continue reading →
One cannot dance well unless one is completely in time with the music, not leaning back to the last step or pressing forward to the next one, but poised directly on the present step as it comes. Perfect poise on the beat of what gives good dancing its sense of ease, of timelessness, of the eternal. ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Thank you so much, everyone, for your support in the release of my book. I am overwhelmed and delighted with your commitment to awareness and book sales to date!
After years of writing and months of editing, Becoming Awareness: Earth. Energy. Evolution. is available for purchase through Amazon.com. A brief description of the book and excerpts follow.
Who were you before the world told you who you should be?
Lorraine Voss takes us on a powerful journey of awareness and perception that awakens us to natural beauty and the realization of authentic being.
In Becoming Awareness, Lorraine explores how our connection with the Earth facilitates the awakening of our vibrational frequencies, bringing us to states of higher consciousness and into realms of deeper awareness. Her insights motivate us to recognize ourselves as beings who are free to choose and create from the infinite possibilities that are available to us. She illuminates the patterns that prevent humanity from evolving and inspires us to feel, see, hear, and know our world from a place of stillness, a place of Spirit, a place of pure perception.
Once our vibrational frequency has increased, our awareness becomes heightened, and we come to know that the only choice we have is to live authentically. The only dream we have is the dream of the planet; the dream of the universe. And the only reality that energizes us is the one in which we are creators and co-creators. ~ Nayeli, Becoming Awareness
A warrior sees herself as a blank canvas and designs herself. She becomes open to the possibilities that exist in which to create her individual and unique manifestation of form in this world. She is prone to explore all possibilities, and while she dances along the lines of awareness that are already upheld by mainstream society, she remembers that there are always new energetic lines to discover and to create. She comes to understand that reality exists before birth and after death and that the details of life are illusory while we walk upon this Earth.
We have tons of energy, we are pure energy. If we choose to recall and revisit past occurrences, we are simply feeding them which ultimately makes those past occurrences stronger and more prevalent. Who wants to hold on to old energy? To do so weakens and prevents us from being in the moment within the continual evolutionary act of creation or co-creation. You must recapitulate.
– Nayeli, Becoming Awareness
Early one morning in late June, Nayeli and I left her house to wander through the Sonoran Desert and harvest the luscious fruit of the saguaro cactus. The Sonoran Desert is the only place in the world where saguaros grow, and we are so fortunate and grateful to have access to this delicious fruit. We wore strong, sturdy hiking boots to maneuver through the desert brambles, prickly pear cactus, and the rocky arroyos. We each carried a citrus fruit picker, a pole that had a large wicker basket at the end. These pickers enabled us to reach up about twelve feet to retrieve the fruits of our labor. It also served as a staff to help us keep our balance through the arroyos, and as Nayeli said instilling a bit of fear, a tool with which to flick away any rattlesnakes we encountered.
