The Importance of Silence for Warriors

Silence is a passageway between worlds. When our mind stays silent, incredible aspects of our being emerge. Starting from that moment, a person becomes a vehicle of intent, and all his acts begin to ooze power. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

Don Juan affirmed that we spend our lives regurgitating an endless list of opinions on almost everything. We receive thoughts in clusters; one connects with the other one, until the entire space of the mind is packed full. That noise has no use, because, practically in its entirety, it is devoted to the enlargement of the ego.

Most people are no longer willing to be silent. They want to fill their lives with noise and activity, to listen to something or to say something or to do something. Cell phones, computers, iPods, video games, noisy cars, trains, airports, television, night-clubs, shopping malls, the endless drone of incessant chatter, email, social networks; all contribute to the constant bombardment of incoming stimuli. External stimulation is taking its toll and serving to disconnect people from the power of silence and the source of all things.

Warriors for Gaia, our Sweet Mother Earth

Ask yourselves these questions: What am I doing with my life? Does it have a purpose? Is it tight enough? A warrior accepts his destiny, whatever it may be. However, he fights to change things, and he makes something exquisite of his passage on Earth. He tempers his will in such a way that nothing can deviate him from his purpose. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

For far too long humanity has been asked and coerced and at times forced to acquiesce to religious order. Think about it. Religious order. What exactly does that mean? A religious order is basically an organization that, like any organization, instills particular rules, structures, bylaws, guidelines, etc. that one must apply and comply with in order to be part of. In early times when anyone resisted the religious order in preference to their devotion to the earth and her bountiful gifts they were called witches, pagans and heathens and burned at the stake, drowned and hanged. In return for your compliance, acquiescence and good behavior you are promised your salvation, deliverance and entry into the kingdom of heaven which is depicted by rainbows, lush meadows, fluffy clouds, angels tooting horns and stairways lined in gold! Some depictions show dolphins swimming in the clouds and a promise to reunite with loved ones with lots of peace and love.

Energetic Lines of Awareness

Look, see those birds? At some point a program was written to govern them. A program was written to watch over the trees, and the wind, the sunrise, and sunset. There are programs running all over the place. The ones doing their job, doing what they were meant to do, are invisible. You’d never even know they were here. But the other ones, well, we hear about them all the time. Every time you’ve heard someone say they saw a ghost, or an angel. Every story you’ve ever heard about vampires, werewolves, or aliens, is the system assimilating some program that’s doing something they’re not supposed to be doing. ~ The Oracle, The Matrix

The movie The Matrix was a blockbuster hit and a sensation that still has people talking about it. My own experience with this movie very much resembled the state of pure energy and incomprehensible entities that don Juan often made reference to. My earlier post regarding The Predator was posted on another public forum to which it received quite a large number of comments and responses. The forum was not specific to the teachings of Castaneda, but rather, a site where people are attempting to move into an evolutionary realm of conscious awareness.

Shifting the Assemblage Point

Any movement of the assemblage point means a movement away from excessive concern with the individual self. Shamans believe it is the position of the assemblage point which makes modern man a homicidal egotist; a being totally involved with his self-image. Having lost hope of ever returning to the source of everything, the average man seeks solace in his selfishness. ~ Don Juan, The Power of Silence

It is the assemblage point where reality is constructed. The assemblage point is not as complex as Castaneda had made it out to be. You don’t need to find a nagual, or take loads of entheogens, or have a near death experience in order to move the assemblage point from its fixated position. Although these are methods that can assist, all you really have to do is have enough energy to move it on your own through the use of a strong will and unbending intention.

Expanding Beyond Paradigms

The ancients started with an understanding that we are transitory, but they allowed themselves to become corrupted by seductive ideas of survival. As a result, they were filled with self-importance and lapsed into exclusivity. The new seers discontinued all that by giving the fluidity of the assemblage point first priority. They had observed that, as soon as that point moves, the idea of secrecy changes into idiocy, because in the realm of energy there are no rigid limits between conscious beings. In consequence, what became most important for them was to get rid of all speculation and emphasize the practical side of the path. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

The exclusivity of the sorcerers’ party in the Castaneda paradigm basically became their demise as they attempted to remain in isolated separation from the rest of the world. They diligently worked at honing their skills towards connecting more deeply with intent and silent knowledge for their goal of ultimate freedom but guarded it intensely as though they had been carefully chosen to be the sole warriors of awareness from a long lineage that preceded them. They lived within a concept that they called “the Rule” and were dedicated to a tradition of people of knowledge that stretched back thousands of years, however, they were extremely private and believed that everything outside of the strict adherence to the teachings was a waste of time. And then when Carlos left this world his party disappeared completely!

Freedom Through Recapitulation

Patiently she explained that the recapitulation is the act of calling back the energy we have already spent in past actions. To recapitulate entails recalling all of the people we have met, all of the places we have seen, and all the feelings we have had in our entire lives; starting from the present and going back to the earliest memories; then sweeping them clean, one by one, with the sweeping breath. ~ Taisha Abelar, The Sorcerer’s Crossing: A Woman’s Journey

Recapitulation is the ability to completely release the energies that keep you bound to specific incidences in your life oftentimes causing you to be trapped within a vicious cycle of replaying repetitive and draining emotional conflict. The continually rehashing of these patterns over and over again causes your life force energy to be constantly wasted as you replay these outmoded patterns of behavior.

The Evolution of the Path

Our vision of a world of objects. That vision has been very useful, but at the same time the worst among our calamities. Modern man’s concerns are the same as those of an animal: Use, possess, annihilate. But this animal has been domesticated, and is condemned to live inside a material inventory. Since every one of the objects he uses has a long history, modern man lives his life lost inside his own creation. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

Encounters with the Nagual is a wonderful paper published by Armando Torres in 2004 and compiled from his personal conversations with Carlos Castaneda. Carlos spoke of many things with Armando but to me the most compelling is Carlos’ desire to ensure that the path of sorcery and nagualism continues to evolve. Carlos said that the goal of modern seers is, more than ever, total freedom and in order to attain it, it becomes necessary that the strategies are continually refined. Evolving, evolution, conscious evolution.

Mother Earth – Our Ultimate Ally

We are children of the Earth, it is our ultimate source. The option of sorcerers is to unite with the awareness of the Earth, for as long as the Earth will live. ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual

Don Juan described an ally as being “a power capable of transporting a man beyond the boundaries of himself”; that is, an ally was a power that allowed one to transcend the realm of ordinary reality. Consequently, to have an ally implied having power; and the fact that a man of knowledge had an ally was by itself proof that the operational goal of the teachings had been fulfilled. Since that goal was to show how to become a person of knowledge, and since a person of knowledge was one who had an ally, another way of describing the operational goal of don Juan’s teachings was to say that they also showed how to obtain an ally. The concept “man of knowledge,” as a sorcerer’s philosophical frame, has meaning for anyone who wants to live within that frame only insofar as he had an ally.

Reconnecting to the Shaman

The passageway into the world of shamans opens up after the warrior has learned to shut off his internal dialogue. ~ Carlos Castaneda

The shaman or nagual resides in each of us. While some may be more advanced, the realm of shamanism encompasses levels of heightened awareness that are available to anyone. Shaman are the walkers on the wind, those who live on the precarious edge of existence, able to access knowledge at will and enter into dream, altered states, parallel realities by connecting with intent. They are healers, dreamers, creators, manifestors, teachers, communicators, mediators, record keepers, and more.

Nagualism and Buddhism

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. ~ Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha

Just because I say it, please, don’t believe it. Have your own experience, form your own perceptions, encounter your own knowledge and explore your own awareness!!!
